Shipping policy

1. Order Processing
Orders are processed Monday through Friday, excluding holidays; weekend orders start the next business day. Before your vehicle ships it goes through payment verification, inventory confirmation, inspection, packaging and freight scheduling — about 3–5 business days on average. Optional assembly adds 10–14 business days depending on the model. Rush Handling is available on many items and saves one to two days of warehouse processing; expedited freight is not offered on large LTL shipments.
Transit by LTL freight usually runs 3–10 business days after the carrier picks the vehicle up, and longer over the holidays or to remote areas. Every date we or the carrier give you is an estimate rather than a promise, because weather, freight volume and carrier schedules are outside anyone’s control. Please order well ahead of a birthday or an event rather than planning one around a delivery date — and call us if a date slips, so we can chase the carrier with you. A late delivery on its own is not grounds for cancellation, refusal, refund or chargeback.
Once your vehicle is loaded you will get a tracking number and a link to the carrier’s live system. Freight tracking updates at major transit points rather than hour by hour, so a quiet day on the tracker is normal. The carrier books the delivery appointment directly, using the phone number on your order.
2. Freight Delivery
Most vehicles ship by LTL freight carrier or specialty vehicle transport, and delivery is curbside. The driver brings the crate to the end of your driveway, and that is where their job ends — for safety and liability reasons they cannot carry it inside, unpack it, assemble it, remove the crate or provide white-glove service. Plan for two people and something to cut the strapping. If you would like inside delivery or white-glove service, tell us before the order ships and we will see what the carrier can quote; it is arranged directly with them at your expense.
The delivery address needs to be somewhere a commercial truck can safely reach. If you are on a narrow trail, a dirt road, a private road, or anywhere a standard delivery truck cannot get to, the carrier will ask you to meet the driver at the nearest accessible public road or another spot you agree on.
We do not ship directly to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, but we are glad to ship to a freight forwarder of your choice in the continental United States. Some areas with limited LTL service — parts of New England, New York City and its boroughs, Montana, North Dakota, the Florida Keys, and parts of Oregon, California and Washington — may carry additional freight charges.
Terminal pickup and other special delivery arrangements need to be requested and confirmed before the order ships. Changes requested after shipment usually mean carrier reconsignment fees and added delay, and those carrier charges pass through to you.
The one thing that keeps your costs down: give us an accurate address and a phone number you will actually answer, and respond when the carrier calls to book the delivery window. If a delivery cannot be completed — nobody available, an appointment not scheduled or accepted, an address a truck cannot safely reach — the carrier charges storage, redelivery, return freight and reconsignment, and those charges pass through to you.
3. Receiving Your Shipment
Inspect the shipment before you sign the delivery receipt. Wear on the outer carton is normal — the frame, cardboard and wrapping are designed to absorb freight handling so the vehicle does not — and is not a reason to refuse delivery.
If you see visible damage: note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph the vehicle, the packaging and the shipping label, and call us within 24 hours so we can file the freight claim. That note on the receipt is what makes the claim work; without it the carrier can limit both its liability and what we are able to recover for you.
For concealed damage: unpack and inspect as soon as you can. Stop assembly, keep the packaging, photograph everything and contact us promptly. Report hidden damage within one week of delivery while the claim against the carrier is still open. Once a unit has been unpacked and assembled we can no longer establish that the damage happened in transit.
4. Shipping Damage Claims
Minor cosmetic damage — scratches, paint chips, a cracked light, mirror, trim or panel — does not affect safe operation, and we resolve it with free replacement parts or touch-up materials rather than taking the vehicle back. Give us a reasonable chance to fix it: refusing a shipment over a scratch is treated as a refused shipment, which means two-way freight plus a 15% restocking fee.
Structural or mechanical damage: call us before attempting assembly or starting the vehicle. Based on photos, video and the carrier’s documentation we will authorize repair, parts, a replacement or a return. Never send a product back without written authorization.
5. Delivery Exceptions
Missed deliveries. Carriers schedule appointments in advance. If a delivery fails because you were unavailable, unreachable, or the contact information on the order was wrong, the carrier’s storage and redelivery charges are your responsibility.
Refused shipments. Unless a unit arrives catastrophically damaged, call us before refusing a delivery — there is almost always a cheaper way through it. An unauthorized refusal makes you responsible for outbound and return freight, storage, handling, assembly charges if any, and a 15% restocking fee. Refunds then follow the Refund, Return & Warranty Policy after inspection; a refused shipment found undamaged on inspection is refunded within 48 hours.
Oversized vehicles — assembled UTVs, larger go-karts and trikes — can exceed a liftgate’s capacity. In that case you have three options: deliver to a location with a loading dock or forklift, arrange a forklift or similar equipment yourself, or pick up at a local freight terminal with a flatbed or trailer. Where we have flagged this requirement before you ordered, equipment rental and transport from the terminal are not covered by Motobuys. If you are unsure whether your delivery location can take a vehicle this size, call us before you order and we will work it out with you.
6. Registration or Title Documents (MCO)
Motorcycles, scooters, trikes and other street-legal vehicles need a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) and a Bill of Sale to register. Many off-highway vehicles can also be titled with these documents, depending on your state.
If your vehicle requires an MCO, we mail it by USPS First-Class Mail with tracking about 10–14 working days after you take delivery, provided the order is fully paid and not subject to a payment dispute. The wait exists because we have to obtain the original MCO from the manufacturer and match the VIN on the document to the VIN on the vehicle you actually received before we can release it.
Except where Texas law requires MotoBuys to process title or registration paperwork for you, registering the vehicle and paying the applicable taxes, title fees, registration fees, inspections and other governmental charges is yours to handle. Registration and operating rules vary by state and locality, so please check before you buy whether the vehicle can be registered, titled or operated where you live — call us if you want help working out what applies. MotoBuys provides the MCO where applicable and the Bill of Sale as proof of ownership, but cannot guarantee that a given vehicle can be registered, titled or legally operated in every state or locality.
7. Cancellation After Shipment
Orders can be cancelled free of charge before shipment, as long as assembly has not started — the Refund & Warranty Policy has the full terms. Once a vehicle is released to a carrier, cancelling or refusing delivery incurs the freight, a 15% restocking fee, the assembly fee if one applies, and any carrier storage charges. Where this policy and the Refund & Warranty Policy overlap, the Refund Policy controls refunds, returns and fees.
8. Guaranteed Delivery By Christmas
On eligible products and destinations we offer an optional Guaranteed Delivery by Christmas service: buy it and we guarantee your order arrives on or before December 24. It is a delivery guarantee backed by MotoBuys rather than an expedited shipping option, so it does not shorten normal transit time.
To qualify, place your order on or before the Guaranteed Delivery deadline shown on the product page or at checkout. Orders that need professional assembly have an earlier deadline because of the extra processing time — check the product page or checkout for the date that applies to you.
If an eligible order does not arrive by December 24 for any reason, including carrier delays, weather or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we refund the Guaranteed Delivery Service Fee. That refund is your sole and exclusive remedy under this service: it does not extend to missed holiday events, delayed gifts, inconvenience, incidental or consequential damages, or a refund of the purchase price.
The guarantee does not apply where delivery could not be completed because the shipping address or phone number was incorrect, incomplete or invalid; the carrier’s calls were not answered or returned; the delivery appointment was not scheduled or accepted; nobody was available to receive the delivery because of travel, vacation or another scheduling conflict; or the carrier could not safely reach the delivery location because of road conditions or restricted access.
If your order arrives before Christmas with minor shipping damage or missing parts, we will send replacement parts or provide the applicable remedy under the Shipping Damage and Warranty policies. Those issues do not on their own trigger a refund of the Guaranteed Delivery Service Fee.
