Refund policy

1. Order Cancellation

Before it ships. Cancel at no charge any time before your order ships and before assembly work starts. Call 877-667-6289 or email customercare@motobuys.com — use those two channels, because messages sent elsewhere, after hours, or on weekends may not reach the team before your order is released to the carrier. Special-order, custom-built and made-to-order products may be locked in once placed. Approved refunds reach your original payment method within 2–3 business days.

After assembly starts. The assembly fee applies ($399 on car carrier orders), because that labor was performed for your order specifically and cannot be recovered.

After it ships. Once a truck is carrying your vehicle the freight is already spent. Cancelling at that point — including refusing the delivery — means outbound and return freight, the 15% restocking fee, the assembly fee if one applies, and any storage or reconsignment the carrier charges. If you are having second thoughts, call us before the truck arrives and we will work out the cheapest way through it.

2. Returns

You have 30 days from delivery to return an unused vehicle. Call 877-667-6289 or email customercare@motobuys.com and we will issue a Return Authorization, arrange the carrier pickup, and email you a Bill of Lading — print it, attach one copy to the shipment, and hand one to the driver. Units need to be wrapped and secured to a pallet or skid. We cannot accept freight-collect or COD shipments, and a shipment sent back without an authorization will be turned away at the dock, so please call first.

To qualify, the vehicle needs to be new and never used, in its original factory box or crate (or packed to the carrier's requirements if the original packaging is gone), complete with its accessories, keys, manuals, hardware and documents. Return shipping is paid by the customer in both directions.

Every return is inspected when it reaches us — condition, completeness, and mileage or hours where applicable — before the refund is approved. A vehicle that comes back used, modified, improperly assembled or maintained, damaged after delivery, or missing components is refunded at its actual remaining value rather than in full. Pack it carefully so it survives the trip back, and keep the original crate whenever you can.

If something is wrong with the vehicle, call us before you start a return. Most of what we see is a bolt that shook loose in transit, a missing fastener, or a carburetor that needs adjusting after a long truck ride. We ship replacement parts free and walk you through the fix by phone. That is faster than a return and it costs you nothing, so when a problem can be solved that way the vehicle stays with you. If a local shop would be easier, tell us — on approved cases Motobuys will pay a local repair shop to do the work rather than have you crate a vehicle and ship it across the country. Ask us before you book anything so we can authorize the cost.

What we cannot take back: a vehicle that has been assembled, fueled, or damaged by use or abuse; special-order and custom products; units missing major components or serial labels; items marked non-returnable at purchase; a vehicle that turns out to be the wrong size for the rider; and factory changes to colors, graphics or specifications that do not affect how the machine works. Product photos are representative and production batches vary slightly. Getting the size right is worth a five-minute call before you order — tell us the rider's height, weight and experience and we will match the machine to them.

3. If It Arrives Damaged

Powersports vehicles travel by freight truck strapped to a pallet. Scuffing on the outer carton is normal — the crate is built to take that hit so the vehicle does not — and is not a reason to refuse the shipment.

Visible damage: write it on the carrier's delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the vehicle, the packaging and the shipping label, and call us within 24 hours. That note on the receipt is what makes the freight claim work; without it the carrier can limit what we are able to recover for you.

Concealed damage: unpack and look the vehicle over as soon as you can. Stop assembly, keep the packaging, photograph everything and contact us. Report hidden damage within one week of delivery while the claim against the carrier is still open. Once a unit has been unpacked and assembled we can no longer establish that the damage happened in transit.

Cosmetic damage — scratches, paint chips, a cracked lens, a bent mirror or panel — does not affect safe operation, and we resolve it with replacement parts or touch-up materials rather than taking the vehicle back. Please give us the chance to fix it: refusing a delivery over a scratch is treated as a refused shipment, which means two-way freight plus the 15% restocking fee. If a refused shipment does come back to our warehouse, we inspect it and issue the appropriate refund within 3–5 business days.

Structural or mechanical damage: stop, do not assemble or start the vehicle, and call us first. Depending on what the photos show we will authorize repair, replacement parts, a replacement unit or a return. Always get written authorization before sending anything back.

4. Refunds

Refunds for inspected returns are processed within 3–5 business days of arrival, and you will get an email confirmation once yours has been issued. Refunds return to the card or account you paid with. Prepaid, gift and government benefit cards cannot accept a refund through the card network, so those are refunded by check — allow 7–10 days in the mail. If the original payment method is unavailable for any other reason, we will refund by another commercially reasonable method.

Costs that are not refundable once incurred: shipping and freight, assembly and setup, expedited handling, storage and carrier charges, special-order cancellation fees, and payment processing fees where the law permits. If a returned vehicle proves undamaged, or shows only minor cosmetic damage that parts would have fixed, the 15% restocking fee plus all freight, pickup and repackaging costs are deducted.

Delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees — weather, freight congestion and holiday traffic are outside anyone's control, and a late delivery on its own is not grounds for cancellation or refund. Order well ahead of a birthday or an event, and call us if a date slips so we can chase the carrier with you.

Lost shipments: if a carrier cannot locate a shipment, the dock-check and loss-prevention process takes up to 7 days. Confirmed losses are refunded in full within 10–14 days.

5. Restocking Fee & Return Costs

Approved returns carry a 15% restocking fee. It covers inspection, repackaging and putting the unit back into inventory — it is a cost, not a penalty. Depending on the situation, return costs can also include outbound freight, return freight, storage, reconsignment and inspection charges, and these are deducted from the refund. Missing components or damage that happened after delivery are deducted at replacement cost. We arrange the return carrier pickup; the return shipping itself is the customer's responsibility. Unless a shipment arrives catastrophically damaged, call us before refusing a delivery — an unplanned refusal triggers the charges above, and nine times out of ten there is a cheaper way.

6. Limited Warranty

Your vehicle is covered by the original manufacturer's limited warranty rather than an independent Motobuys warranty. Depending on the model, the factory covers motor and electrical parts for 3, 6, or 12 months from purchase against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Terms vary by manufacturer, model and category — check the warranty documents packed with your vehicle, or call us and we will work out exactly what you have. Extended parts warranties are available on most models at the time of purchase; they are non-refundable and cannot be added after delivery.

Our US-based tech support is free and it is the fastest route to a fix. Call 877-667-6289 or email customercare@motobuys.com and we will help you identify what is wrong. Most operational problems turn out to be something we can diagnose with you over the phone, and approved claims are resolved with replacement parts shipped at no charge — which is why we ask you to work through the troubleshooting with us before requesting a replacement, return or refund. Parts may be new, remanufactured or functionally equivalent, and defective parts need to go back as the factory requires.

Contact us before arranging repairs or sending anything back. We may ask for photos, video, serial numbers, proof of purchase or maintenance records. Because most faults are fixable with parts and guidance, replacing the whole vehicle is not the default remedy — and repairs carried out without authorization can void the coverage, so please check with us first.

7. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

Normal wear items: tires, tubes, batteries, belts, chains, sprockets, brake pads, clutch components, bulbs, spark plugs, filters, fluids, seats, grips, trim and decals.

Assembly faults: skipping the Pre-Delivery Inspection, leaving hardware loose, and any part damaged by loose hardware.

Misuse: abuse, neglect, accidents, wrong fuel or storage, missed maintenance, overloading, racing and commercial use. Unauthorized modifications and aftermarket performance parts. External causes such as collision, fire, flood, corrosion or animal damage. Cosmetic conditions that do not affect operation.

On labor: where we have approved a local repair in advance, Motobuys pays for it. Outside that, labor is not covered or reimbursed — diagnosis, repair, parts replacement, setup, towing, transportation and related expenses. Ask us before booking any work so we can authorize it.

8. Your Part: Setup and Maintenance

Buying warehouse-direct means the dealer setup is yours to do, and it is the single thing that most affects how the machine runs. That means fitting mirrors, connecting the battery, checking every fastener and wheel spoke, securing electrical connections, changing the oil, and making the routine adjustments — carburetor idle and fuel/air mixture, clutch, chain slack and alignment, tires and rims. Use a thread-locking agent such as Loctite on hardware: loose hardware, and anything it damages, is not covered under warranty. Budget 30–90 minutes or more depending on the vehicle and your experience.

If you would rather not do this on a gas-powered vehicle, have a local mechanic assemble and prep it — we can ship directly to a shop, just tell us before the order goes out. Please sort this out before ordering rather than after delivery, since a completed PDI is what the warranty is written around.

After that: maintain the vehicle per the owner's manual, stop riding anything you believe is unsafe, tell us about problems early while they are still small, and work with us on troubleshooting and documentation before requesting a return or refund.

9. Limitation of Remedies & Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the remedies in this Policy are your exclusive remedies. Motobuys may satisfy a valid claim through replacement parts, repair authorization, product replacement, an authorized return, or a partial or full refund as appropriate. Motobuys is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, including lost income, loss of use, towing, rental, travel or inconvenience. Some states do not allow certain limitations; where prohibited, they apply only to the extent permitted, and the remainder of this Policy remains in effect.
